Who it affects
It applies to 42 Electric Ireland plans on sale today. All 13 current Electric Ireland electricity plans are variable-rate. Customers on a variable-rate plan pay the new rates from the day they take effect. A customer on a fixed-rate contract keeps their rates until the fixed term ends.

About Electric Ireland
Electric Ireland, the retail arm of the ESB, is one of the largest energy suppliers in the country providing gas and electricity for more than 1.3 million homes and businesses.
Originally a state owned company and the sole electricity supplier in the country, it rebranded to Electric Ireland in 2012 following the deregulation of Ireland’s energy market.
